Costume Rental

Looking for a special piece for your leading lady, or need to costume an entire chorus of policemen? VLO has what you need. We have costumes for Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, The Mikado, The Gondoliers, Ruddigore, Iolanthe, Yeomen of the Guard, Princess Ida, The Sorcerer, Brigadoon, Patience, My Fair Lady, and many many more! Costumes range from 17th century Japan to 1960’s chic, Medieval royalty to 1800’s England.

Costume Rental Contract

Rental Fee $25.00- $35.00 per costume used. Renter may borrow additional costumes to allow for fittings at no extra charge as long as they are returned in original condition, unworn and by the due date. We reserve the right to request return of unused costumes within two weeks of the rental company’s first rehearsal. We reserve the right to request a deposit. Costumes may be rented for up to 90 days. A surcharge of 15% of the rental fee of all costumes included will be added for costumes held by the renter beyond 90 days. If VLO is required to ship costumes to a renter, a $200 deposit will be required. There will be a packing fee of 10% of the rental fee of all costumes sent. The renter will cover all shipping costs.

· All costumes must be returned cleaned according to the instructions. The renting institution bears the cost of cleaning.

· Additional use of rented items at other times or locations not specified on this form is not permitted.

· Charges may be made to the renter for loss or damage of items. Charges will not exceed their estimated values.

· Costumes must be returned within two weeks after the production unless otherwise arranged. There will be a late fee of $25.00 per day.

Alteration of costumes is allowed as long as the integrity of the costume is retained. NO CUTTING, DISTRESSING, GLUING, OR USING ADHESIVES IS ALLOWED (e.g. NO masking, duct, fusible tapes, etc.) The renter does not need to remove alterations unless they are extensive. VLO requests that any alterations made can be easily removed.
