Every VLO production features stunning hand-made costumes. All levels of skills welcome to lend a hand.

Sets

Each show features custom constructed and hand paints sets. Many hands, of any skill-level, make light work- and it's fun!

Production Team

STAGE DIRECTORResponsible for the overall artistic concept of the show. Work with set and costume designers, choreographers, and music director, and technical staff to carry out the concept. Rehearse the cast in dialogue, acting, blocking, and dancing.MUSIC DIRECTOROversee all musical aspects of production in cooperation with stage director and choreographer. Rehearse chorus, ensembles, principals, and orchestra. Conduct all performances.CHOREOGRAPHERWorking with stage director, develop movement and dances appropriate to the play; teach them to chorus and principals. PRODUCERSProducers take on an essential area of the production, attend production meetings, and take an active role in decision-making. Oversee crew heads and write thank-yous.COORDINATING PRODUCERAssume ultimate responsibility for all aspects of production. Recruit directors, designers, staff, and crew heads. Schedule and oversee auditions, read-through, rehearsals, production meetings, performances. Liaison with VLO board of directors, performance venue and ticket agent personnel, and community. Tackle problems, resolve conflicts, stay on top of everything. Some work year-round, with a heavy schedule in the fall.REHEARSAL ACCOMPANISTPlay piano for all music rehearsals. Assist the music director by running sectionals for parts of the chorus or groups of leads. Lead the ensemble in vocal warm-ups.
