Toy theatre
A Victorian girl (Schuyler Evans) and boy (Kimaya Diggs) play with their toy theater, and the cardboard characters will magically come to life and portray the story.
Dame Hannah tells
"Sir Rupert Murgatroyd, his leisure and his riches . . ."
Dame Hannah (Lisa Woods) tells the bridesmaids about the Murgatroyd curse.
Rose Maybud and
Dame Hannah
". . . and nearly all are wont to use their pocket combs in public places!"
Rose Maybud (Elaine Crane) explains to Dame Hannah (Lisa Woods) why she cannot approach the young men in the village.
Rose and Robin
"I'll tell that maid what she ought to do."
Rose Maybud (Elaine Crane) and Robin Oakapple (Nicholas Dahlman) discuss how two shy people might express their feelings.
Richard and Robin
"I'm a fine fellow, Dick, and worthy any woman's love . . . But I'm timid . . ."
Richard Dauntless (Jonathan Evans) listens to his foster brother Robin (Nicholas Dahlman).

Robin Oakapple (Nicholas Dahlman) describes Richard's (Jonathan Evans) virtues and his faults to Rose Maybud (Elaine Crane).
Mad Margaret
"I'm poor Mad Margaret - Crazy Meg - Poor Peg."
Mad Margaret (Emily Spura) tells of her unrequited love for Sir Despard, the Bad Baronet of Ruddigore.
Margaret and Rose
"I have come to pinch Rose Maybud!"
Mad Margaret (Emily Spura) reveals her fear that Rose Maybud will steal Despard's love from her.
Sir Despard
"Poor children, how they loathe me--me whose hands are steeped in infamy!"
Sir Despard (Matthew Roehrig) enters villainously.
Josephine relents
"I claim young Robin as my elder brother!"
Sir Despard (Matthew Roehrig) reveals Robin's (Nicholas Dahlman) true identity, to the consternation of Rose Maybud (Elaine Crane).
Old Odam and Sir
Ruthven
"It's no use my making suggestions if you don't adopt them."
Old Adam Goodheart (Gregory Young) tries to advise Sir Ruthven (Nicholas Dahlman) how to commit his daily crime.
Union Jack over Rose
Maybud
". . . and while this glorious rag floats over Rose Maybud's head, [no man] would dare to lay unlicensed hand upon her!"
At Richard's (Jonathan Evans) instruction, Ruth (Anju Soparkar Diggs) and Zorah (Lindsey Larkin) hold the Union Jack above Rose Maybud (Elaine Crane) to protect her from Sir Ruthven.
Murgatroyd
ancestors
"That's nothing. Nothing at all. Everybody does that."
The Murgatroyd ancestors, come to life from their portraits, are not impressed by Sir Ruthven's puny attempts to satisfy the curse.
The reformed Despard and Margaret
"My hair is combed. My face is washed. My boots fit!"
Sir Despard (Matthew Roehrig) has successfully reformed, but Mad Margaret (Emily Spura) still has occasional difficulty controlling her emotions.
Robin before Dame Hannah
and Sir Roderic
"Anything more scrupulously correct than your conduct, . . ."
Under the critical eye of Sir Roderic (Alan Harris), Robin (Nicholas Dahlman) attempts to apologize to Dame Hannah (Lisa Woods) for her abduction.
Robin and Rose reunited
"If I should turn out not to be a bad baronet after all, how would you love me then?"
With the curse lifted, Robin (Nicholas Dahlman) and Rose (Elaine Crane) can be reunited--madly, passionately--while Richard (Jonathan Evans) will have to turn elsewhere.
