Mabel (Nancy Parland) and Frederic (Matthew Price) sing of their joy at finding each other, while Edith (Mary Annarella) and the other maidens talk about the weather.
Orphan/Often

Major-General Stanley (Steve Morgan) pleads with the Pirate King (Bob Kumin) for the release of his wards.
Be comforted
"Dry the glistening tear."
Mabel (Nancy Parland) tries to comfort the Major-General (Steve Morgan), while Kate (Katy Berube) and Isabel (Caralyn Ballou) look on.
Pirate King, Ruth, Frederic
"Yes, yes. Tonight the traitor dies!"
The Pirate King (Robert Kumin), Ruth (Mary Jane Schulze) and Frederic (Matthew Price) plot revenge for Gen. Stanley's story.
A policeman's lot
"When constabulary duty's to be done . . ."
The Sergeant of Police (Stephen Tanne) considers the trials and tribulations of a policeman's lot.
Pirates and tools
"Here's your crowbar and your centerbit."
Samuel (James Brower) distributes burglary tools to the pirates.
