Little Buttercup (Mary Jane Schulze) arrives, much to the delight of the sailors.
Boatswain, Deadeye, and
Buttercup
"You can't expect a chap with such a name as Dick Deadeye to be a popular character."
The Boatswain (John Healy) chastizes Dick Deadeye (Robert Kumin) before Little Buttercup (Mary Jane Schulze).
Capt. Corcoran and crew
"I am the Captain of the Pinafore."
Captain Corcoran (Matthew Roehrig) addresses the crew.
Josephine and Capt. Corcoran
"In a matter of the heart I would not coerce my daughter, but. . ."
Captain Corcoran (Matthew Roehrig) looks with disfavor on his daughter Josephine's (Elaine Crane) love for a common sailor.

"Gaily tripping, lightly skipping"
Sir Joseph's female relatives are happy to meet the crew of the Pinafore.
Sir Joseph tells his story
"I polished up the handle of the big front door."
The Boatswain (John Healy), Carpenter's Mate (Nicholas Dahlman), Midshipmite (Schuyler Evans), and Cousin Hebe (Nichole Provencal) listen as Sir Joseph Porter, KCB (Thom Griffin) describes his rise to power.
The trio sings the glee
"A British tar is a soaring soul"
The Carpenter's Mate (Nicholas Dahlman), Boatswain (John Healy), and Ralph Rackstraw (Jonathan Evans) sing Sir Joseph's song, while Dick Deadeye (Robert Kumin) directs.
Josephine spurns Ralph
"Your proffered love I haughtily reject!"
Josephine (Elaine Crane) spurns Ralph Rackstraw (Jonathan Evans), at least for the moment.
Josephine relents
"Loves me?" "Loves you!"
Josephine (Elaine Crane) relents just in time to save Ralph Rackstraw (Jonathan Evans).
Sir Joseph courts
Josephine
"Love is a platform upon which all ranks meet."
Sir Joseph (Thom Griffin) tells Josephine (Elaine Crane) that she can marry him in spite of their different social standing.
Buttercup reveals secret
"I mixed those children up, and not a creature knew it!"
Dick Deadeye (Robert Kumin), Cousin Hebe (Nichole Provencal) and Sir Joseph (Thom Griffin) react to Buttercup's (Mary Jane Schulze) revelation that the Captain and Ralph were switched as babies.
Sir Joseph gives Josephine to Ralph
"Take her, sir, and mind you treat her kindly."
Thanks to Little Buttercup's revelation, Ralph Rackstraw (Jonathan Evans) and Josephine (Elaine Crane) can marry with Sir Joseph's (Thom Griffin) blessing.
Captain and Buttercup
"Oh rapture, oh bliss!"
Similarly, Captain Corcoran (Matthew Roehrig) and his admiring Little Buttercup (Mary Jane Schulze) can tie the knot.
Cousin Hebe claims Sir Joseph
"Fear nothing! While I live I'll not desert you."
Cousin Hebe (Nichole Provencal) stakes her claim on Sir Joseph (Thom Griffin).
