Men's chorus
"If you want to know who we are . . ."
The gentlemen of Japan set the stage for us. (Front row, left to right: Jonathan Evans, Roy Williams, John Foster, Paul Peelle, Nina Pollard, Ken Moore; second row: Gordon Freed, Tom Rowland, Kurtiss Gordon, Bill Tobey, Nick Baskin; Third row: David Mix Barrington, Kevin Mepham, Phil Helzer, Kevin Hutchinson, Glen Gordon, Jordan Helzer)
2nd trombone
"A wand'ring minstrel I . . ."
Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) tells Pish-Tush (Phil Helzer) that he has returned to Titipu to try to marry Yum-Yum.
Don't court Yum-Yum
"Young man, despair."
Pish-Tush (Phil Helzer) and Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) react as Pooh-Bah (Matthew Roehrig) explains that Yum-Yum is already engaged to be married.
Ko-Ko's list
". . . it may happen that a victim must be found, . . ."
Ko-Ko (Jonathan Klate), the Lord High Executioner, reads his list of people "who might well be underground and who never would be missed."
Women's
chorus
"Comes a train of little ladies"
Home from school on vacation, but still under the watchful eye of their schoolmistress (Elaine Fligman). (First row, left to right: Elysse Link, Bryar Albert-Loftfield, Aravis Albert, Schuyler Evans, Niki Sremac, Anju Soparkar Diggs; second row: Esta Busi, Lucy Robinson, Kate Green, Marese D. Hutchinson, Connie Cappelli, Ann Steinhauser, K.C. Conlan)
Three little maids
"Three little maids from school are we"
Flanked by her sisters Peep-Bo (Fran Goodwin) and Pitti-Sing (Heather Davies), Yum-Yum (Libby Maxey) joins her schoolmates.
Sad lovers
"Were I not to Ko-Ko plighted"
Yum-Yum (Libby Maxey) and Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) bemoan that they can't marry each other because she is engaged to Ko-Ko.
Who shall die?
"I shall have to execute somebody at once."
Pish-Tush (Phil Helzer), Ko-Ko (Jonathan Klate), and Pooh-Bah (Matthew Roehrig) debate which one of them should die to satisfy the Mikado's decree.
Let me behead you
"What are you going to do with that rope?"
Ko-Ko (Jonathan Klate) implores Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) not to commit suicide, but to let Ko-Ko ceremoniously execute him.
Katisha
"Your revels cease! Assist me, all of you!"
Katisha (Kathy Blaisdell) interrupts the public celebration to claim her runaway fiancé, Nanki-Poo.
Nanki-Poo and maids
"They've been reminding me that in a month you're to be beheaded!"
As Pish-Tush (Phil Helzer) looks on, Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) attempts to comfort Yum-Yum (Libby Maxey), Pitti-Sing (Heather Davies) and Peep-Bo (Fran Goodwin).
The Mikado
"A more humane Mikado never did in Japan exist."
Accompanied by his Imperial Guards (Jonathan Evans and Ken Moore), the Mikado (Joseph Donohue) addresses the townspeople of Titipu.
The only solution
"I marry Katisha!"
Ko-Ko (Jonathan Klate) is aghast at the solution to their problems proposed by Pitti-Sing (Heather Davies), Pooh-Bah (Matthew Roehrig), Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) and Yum-Yum (Libby Maxey).
A suppliant at your feet
"You . . . dare to address words of passion . . . !."
At first, Katisha (Kathy Blaisdell) is not particularly receptive to Ko-Ko's (Jonathan Klate) declarations of affection. (But we know he wins her heart in the end.)
Nanki-Poo and
Yum-Yum happily ever after
"For he's gone and married Yum-Yum."
Everyone rejoices that Nanki-Poo (Theodore Blaisdell) and Yum-Yum (Libby Maxey) no longer have to hide their marriage. In the background, even the Mikado (Joseph Donohue) shows his satisfaction at the outcome.
