VLO runs on

power

We welcome members of the community to sing, dance, play in the orchestra, hammer nails, sew hems, and be involved in all aspects of production.

Join us today!

join us at our annual meeting

Arrive after 6:00 so that you can place your food order.  The restaurant staff requests that people gather in groups of at least four to reduce their payment confusion.

At 7:00, we will dispense with the Annual Meeting formalities.  Shortly thereafter, we will engage in singing Pirates of Penzance.  If you have a score, please bring it with you there will be some scores available on site.

It would greatly help in the setup at the restaurant if you would RSVP to valleylightopera@gmail.com.

VLO is sad to announce the passing of our dear friend, John Foster. Many will remember him as an energetic contributor to overall productions, both on and off-stage, notably for his beautifully rendered - and functional- props and set pieces . Our sincere condolences to Lorie and John Healy and their family.

Joe Donohue was a dear friend to VLO and a large part of our history..

Joe was a great Captain Corcoran in 1975’s Pinafore, a brilliant Tolloler in 1976’s Iolanthe, a consummate Pooh-Bah in 1977’s Mikado, and a hilarious Wilfred Shadbolt in 1978’s Yeomen. Then to round off the 70’s he directed the company’s first Pirates in 1979. he continued to both perform and direct in the 80’s.

We send our sincerest condolences to Joe’s family.

They draw participants from all over the Pioneer Valley and beyond, and each fall they present a fully staged opera at the Academy of Music in Northampton.
